The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence is accelerating investment in industrial robotics across the United States, with the automotive sector leading the expansion. More than $20 billion in active and proposed U.S. projects are focused on robot manufacturing and related equipment, according to Industrial Info Resources.
The trend follows strong growth in robot installations during 2025, when the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) reported a 15% global increase and an 11% rise in the United States.
Automakers are investing heavily in robotics to improve manufacturing efficiency, support electric vehicle production, and prepare for increasingly automated factory operations. Those investments are extending beyond traditional robotic arms and assembly equipment into advanced humanoid robots designed to assist with repetitive industrial tasks. Industry forecasts suggest robotics demand will continue growing in 2026, with more industries expected to adopt automation beyond automotive manufacturing.
