Red and blue flashing lights spotted over the city have been traced to a new, advanced police drone.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety recently completed a six-day, no-cost “Drone as First Responder” pilot evaluation using a drone system provided by Axon in partnership with Skydio, Public Information Officer Zach Hamelton said. The trial was held to evaluate the drone’s capabilities, operational performance and potential benefits in supporting police, fire and emergency medical responses.
