
As a natural born maker, there is nothing I enjoy doing more than solving a problem. Granted, it helps if the problem lay somewhere in the neighborhood of my varied expertise. The sense of satisfaction of getting to the other side of the issue is always gratifying.
Engineers working on the evolution of the electric vehicle hit a big one with range anxiety. Customers wanted to buy a “battery electric vehicle” BEV, but couldn’t get past the time needed to recharge the battery when hitting the end of the car’s range. But, like any good problem, it agitates discovery! Engineers and scientists can not leave a problem sitting there without getting to work on it.
