The US has approved plans to construct one of the nation’s biggest power-producing solar projects.
The US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has authorized Jove Solar to develop a large-scale solar energy facility in La Paz County, Arizona. Located about 30 miles west of Tonopah, the project will transform 3,495 acres of land into a renewable energy site.
The 600-megawatt Jove Solar Project is expected to produce enough clean energy to power approximately 180,000 homes each year.
The Jove Solar Project is one of many renewable energy initiatives proposed on federal lands that the Biden administration has prioritized for approval ahead of the transition to President-elect Donald Trump taking office this month.
