The 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to Francis Halzen for his development of the IceCube Neutrino Observatory in Antarctica. The subterranean facility utilizes over 5,000 buried sensors spanning one cubic kilometer of ice to detect cosmic neutrinos and identify extreme space phenomena.
