Nvidia is partnering with Einride as the Swedish autonomous-truck maker looks to boost its production to meet rising demand for driverless vehicles.
The chip giant will provide the underlying compute platform and artificial-intelligence tools to Einride’s autonomous-driving systems, Einride said Monday. The company said it currently operates hundreds of electric trucks for major shipping clients across the U.S., Europe and the Middle East, and expects demand to increase to between 1,500 and 2,000 vehicles by 2028. Some 80% of that demand is suitable for automation in the medium term, Einride said. That will add to the driverless trucks it already has in operation, the company said.
