On August 26, 2026, Oakland County Economic Development partnered with Clean Fuels Michigan and NextEnergy to host the Hydrogen Ride & Drive at the Oakland County Farmers Market in Waterford, Michigan. This interactive showcase connected municipal leaders, planners, data center operators, and fleet managers with advanced innovations in hydrogen mobility and stationary power infrastructure.

Attendees observed live demonstrations and participated in test drives featuring a diverse array of equipment—including passenger vehicles, terminal tractors, transit buses, refuse trucks, and a heavy-duty Class 8 truck. Prominent automotive and energy technology leaders featured prominent displays and technology demonstrations on-site, including Toyota, Bosch, Forvia, PHINIA, Ricardo, and OP Mobility. Additionally, pioneering hydrogen storage and infrastructure providers like Noble Gas Systems and OneSix Energy showcased their specialized equipment, shedding light on essential refueling logistics, safety standards, and regional infrastructure scalability.
