A forum at Michigan State University is giving students and business leaders a closer look at how artificial intelligence is being used in manufacturing. The forum also showcased how AI is used in less expected settings, including agriculture.

“We don’t think about it when we open our carton of milk in the morning, but there’s a lot of systems behind them, and AI plays a huge role in making sure that the cow, all the way to the fridge, has an actual process that is safe and delivered for the best customer experience possible,” said Gretter.

Day two of the Forum on May 1 will give attendees the opportunity to step on the work grounds of places that have already implemented AI in day-to-day operations. These locations include MSU’s Facility for Rare Isotope Beams and the Dairy Cattle Teaching and Research Facility.
