10BASE-T1S TRAINING FROM INTREPID CONTROL SYSTEMS

This course offers an introduction to Ethernet basics, focusing on 10BASE-T1S. It covers the physical layer, Physical Layer Collision Avoidance (PLCA), line encoding and burst mode. It also includes a hands-on walkthrough of node count and transmit opportunity. You will set up RAD-Comet2, observe received frames, create and transmit messages and observe PLCA symbols on the bus.
ABOUT AUTOMOTIVE ETHERNET— CARS & BEYOND
As vehicles become more autonomous, electrified, and softwareโdefined, the demands on inโvehicle networks are exploding. Automotive Ethernet is evolving to meet those demands.
โThe biggest evolution is speed,โ says Colt Correa, Chief Operating Officer of Intrepid Control Systems. โAutonomous systems need massive amounts of sensor dataโradar, audio, uncompressed videoโand legacy networks simply canโt handle that bandwidth.โ
Where Automotive Ethernet Is Headed

- Higher speed grades to support AIโdriven perception systems
- Uncompressed video transport, avoiding the latency introduced by compression
- Centralized computing architectures, requiring fast, deterministic data flow
- New busโbased Ethernet topologies, reducing wiring and cost
Perhaps the most surprising development is that automotive Ethernet is no longer just for cars.
- Aerospace and space systems, where weight reduction is critical
- U.S. military applications, formally approving certain automotive Ethernet standards
- Factory automation and robotics, already adopting EthernetโT1 variants
- Any embedded system where twoโwire, highโbandwidth communication is an advantage
โAnywhere weight, cost, and reliability matter, automotive Ethernet has a role,โ Correa says. โWeโre seeing real applications far beyond the automotive industry.โ
