Air taxis aren’t yet officially in operation, but the industry is already gearing up for autonomous ones. The road for autonomous eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing) is longer and harder, but their expected impact is tremendous. At the moment, a major partnership is paving the way for pilot-free air mobility in the US, including major locations like Miami, Los Angeles, and Houston.

Canada-based Wisk Aero has three official launch markets in the US – Houston, Los Angeles, and Miami, and these will be some of the locations included in a planned infrastructure network for autonomous flights. The network is a joint project involving Wisk, developer of autonomous eVTOLs, and Signature Aviation, the largest network of private aviation terminals in the world.
