Our Smart Future: In the media, business news, educational offerings, and even in science fiction, we are often presented with the promise of a smart future.

With the support of Astemo, Fontaine Modification, Yazaki, and TechTown Detroit, Global Auto Mobility hosted a business leadership event on April 22 focusing on what a smart future looks like for Mobility and related industries.

Smart Mobility Today host Cindy Polakowski opened the event and introduced moderator Ed Coury who led the panel discussion with leaders from organizations including ITC Holdings, TechTown Detroit, Centrepolis, Fontaine Modification, and the Michigan Office of Future Mobility and Electrification.

The event included the 2025 Global Auto Mobility Industry Innovation Award. The honor recognized Michelle Reaves. As the first female director of DAPCEP, Michelle is the chief architect of several DAPCEP initiatives including the popular Pre-K to 3rd grade Explorers Program, the annual STEM Day held at the Michigan Science Center, GEAR-UP student programming, the bi-annual DAPCEP Student Showcase, and the STEM In-State and Out-of-State College Tours.

“Her  focus on bringing educational and career opportunities to the entire community has made Ms. Reaves a leader and innovator who we count on to guide us as we manage great changes over the upcoming years Michelle has built a reputation as an intelligent and creative leader,” said Dan Keelan, Global Auto Mobility publisher, in announcing the award.
