At Embraer spinoff Eve Air Mobility, founder and former Co-CEO Andre Stein was a pioneer of urban air mobility (UAM). Now, as new CEO of Eviation, he is shifting his focus to electrifying small commuter airplanes for regional air mobility (RAM) services.
But despite the change of course, Stein insists the move does not reflect a change in thinking about the viability of urban air mobility (UAM); rather, he says in an interview with AAM Report that he believes both urban and regional air mobility (RAM) present compelling opportunities to disrupt aviation by focusing first on the smaller ends of the commercial market, before eventually scaling up to larger and more capable vehicles.
