Computer Scientist Weisong Shi talked with Smart Mobility Today’s Nathan Keelan about a new certification program being offered to mobility industry professionals.
Dr. Shi is a Charles H Gershenson Distinguished Faculty Fellow and a Professor of Computer Science at Wayne State University. He directs the Mobile and Internet Systems Laboratory as well as the Connected and Autonomous Driving Laboratory.
Wayne State University and Amesite Inc., an artificial intelligence software company providing online learning ecosystems for business, higher education and K-12, are collaborating on web-based certification courses aimed at those interested in career training within the next-gen mobility sector.
“The Wayne State University College of Engineering is very excited to be partnering with Amesite to deliver artificial intelligence-backed and fully remote continuing educational programs covering next-gen mobility,” said Farshad Fotouhi, Dean of Wayne State University’s College of Engineering. “Having our expert faculty partner with Amesite to provide a fully remote service that keeps our students trained on the latest in this field will advance our strategy of supporting alumni, and all professionals.”
According to Dr. Shi, Wayne State as well as many of its partners share the same vision. As Detroit was the center of the automotive industry 100 years ago, the city is once again demonstrating leadership as a global center of mobility.
This development is happening thanks to leaders in academia, industry, government, as well as groups like the Detroit Mobility Labs.
