Ford Motor Company is partnering with Ann Arbor to launch a data gathering and analysis platform to explore mobility solutions across the city.
The City Insights Platform will offer comprehensive views of safety, parking, transit and an interactive model display of the city with 3D printed buildings and streets that light up to show areas of congestion and provide real time data, Ford executives said in a Wednesday announcement.
The platform “represents the ability to engage mobility data in one place and explore various solutions virtually before we implement them in the real world,” said Brett Wheatley, vice president of mobility, marketing and growth at Ford.
He said a team of researchers and engineers will compile insights to help city planners solve mobility challenges.
