I am always amazed at the energy and intelligence I hear in the voices of the engineering students that I meet on our Engineering Careers Tour. At Michigan State University, U of M Dearborn, and recently at Wayne State University, our team has met the young people who represent the future of engineering.
Especially as I watch them interact with other students on teams and clubs, I think about how great they will be in the world of work! Part of that success is what they learn in the classroom — and part of it is about the skills they develop as team members and leaders.
The Global Auto Mobility and Smart Mobility Today team spent the day on campus at Detroit’s Wayne State University just before winter break. Much of our focus was on student groups:

- What are they working on?
- What are the students learning?
- How is their hands-on experience contributing to their engineering education?
- How is their experience with the groups and clubs going to make them better equipped to success in the changing world of work?
