The boss of the U.K.’s most extensive motorway services provider has warned of the challenge ahead for grid capacity as more and more British motorists switch to electric vehicles.
“The electric vehicle revolution is now well underway,” Moto CEO Ken McMeikan said in a statement today.
“By 2040, we will need ten times as many chargers to meet the projected increased demand. By 2030 E.V. charging will require twelve times as much energy as we currently have, so engagement from Government and the National Grid to help the industry address the challenges faced is vital.”
