From mining raw materials such as nickel, manganese, and lithium to developing innovative, high-performance alloys, operations at Eramet Group, located in the French capital of Paris, span all areas of extractive metallurgy.
Over the past few years, the company has been on a digital transformation journey to enable process excellence to maximize production efficiency at its plants to support effective maintenance management across its workforce of 12,600 employees.
“Our Group needed a leap forward,” said Christel Bories, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Eramet Group. “I launched a new strategic roadmap and a comprehensive managerial transformation, positioning our operational performance and responsible business commitment at the very heart of our challenges.”
Bories said the company is adjusting its organizational structures and changing how teams work. “Through this, we will achieve growth in the metals involved in the energy transition and develop a selected portfolio of value-added mining and metallurgy operations,” she said.
This encompassed production operations across its five plants in France and Norway, in an effort to run them in a more efficient, safe and sustainable way. Eramet wanted to enhance the overall equipment effectiveness by enabling early detection and mitigation of issues, and to improve resource utilization to increase productivity.
