The European Tour is usually a globetrotting circuit of tournaments spread across five continents but to get things back up and running, it is currently in the midst of an eight-week program of competition across the U.K. and Austria.

Organizers have created a bio-secure bubble around each course and players, caddies and operations teams are subject to strict safety and social distancing measures. As is the norm these days, no fans are in attendance.

If any evidence of how serious these regulations are being taken is required, then the example of American golfer John Catlin and his caddie’s disqualification from the English Open for visiting a restaurant outside the tournament bubble should suffice.
